Bad Breath is actually very natural though not very pleasant. Although it can be caused by many different serious illnesses, we’ll only consider the garden variety much more common Halitosis or Stinky Breath.

First healthy breath should generally be neutral in odor. That is, not sweet, sour, or have a definite “aroma.”

Were you ever introduced to someone who had an odor or smelly breath? We’re not talking strong food like onions but a rotten smell. The problem may have been a case of bad breath.

Most cases of halitosis is due to decayed food particles between your teeth and at the gum line. The bacteria in your mouth causes the food to decay giving off the gaseous odors. It’s especially noticeable in the morning because we’ve had hours to allow the decaying food to do it’s worst. Morning mouth is nothing more than the bacteria getting a jump on your dental hygiene.

Here are a few bad breath cures.

1. Flavored mouthwashes only mask the odor. Rinsing with either a mouthwash or plain water however will loosen some stuck food particles and make your mouth feel fresher and smell better.

2. Regular teeth brushing. If you have an important meeting after lunch, consider taking a vacation toothbrush to the office to make certain your mouth is as clean as possible.

3. Floss your teeth. Flossing is using a piece of string like material to rub between each set of 2 teeth. This loosened and removes build up of plaque and decaying food.

4. Wash your tongue! That’s right, many of those smelly bacteria are literally on the tip of your tongue. Washing your tongue is easy using a terry cloth washcloth and plain water. You can brush your tongue if you so desire but washing or brushing, just remember it’s important to do.

5. If teeth brushing isn’t an option, try chewing gum. Sugarless gum can loosen food matter from between your teeth and also mask any odors from that strong jalapeno sandwich you had for lunch.

Don’t use gum with sugar however. The sugars in the gum is like more food for the bacteria and can actually make your breath smell worse.

How can you tell if you have Halitosis? One quick way is to lick the back of your hand and smell it. If it’s not pleasant to you, the owner, it’s probably not welcome to anyone around you either.

In the end, good dental hygiene that includes regular teeth brushing, flossing and tongue washing will go a long way to keeping your breath kiss-ably fresh!

1.Use mouthwash after every meal. This works to loosen food particles inside your mouth that can decay and cause stinky breath.
2.Brush teeth after every meal. Your mother was right and you should brush your teeth after every meal if all possible.
3.When outside the home, after eating, chew a piece of sugarless gum. Gum, like the mouthwash will help to remove stock food from between your teeth.
4.Clean your tongue regularly with a clean cold, wet Terry washcloth. This helps remove the bacteria buildup that can cause bad breath.
5.Wipe the inside of your mouth, gums and cheeks. Literally any soft tissue in your mouth can be cleaned with a cold washcloth and be made to feel much fresher.
6.Watch what you eat. Many times strong foods like onions and garlic take time to be processed through your system. They can remain on your breath for hours after eating. He cannot arrange or basis and you may find that your skin will also have a faint odor.
7.Floss your teeth. If there’s one thing that you can do to keep your breath smelling as fresh as possible, it’s flossing your teeth. Flossing removes plaque and bacteria buildup from tooth surfaces.
8.Make an appointment to visit your dentist. Dental cavities and gingivitis are two of the leading causes of halitosis or bad breath. The sooner these problems are corrected the easier it will be to maintain a healthy mouth and fresh breath.
9.Stay away from strong drinks such as coffee or use some of the tips above to eliminate that stale coffee odor.
10.Don’t smoke. Smoking can permeate not only your breath, but everything in totally and everything you wear. Stale smokers breath is just disgusting and no amount of gum or mints can mask the odor

Your breath should naturally have a neutral smell. It should not deliver any messages about what you had for lunch or the state of your health. Healthy breath should not be unpleasant to people you come in contact with, or smell like peppermints or cinnamon. By taking good care of your teeth and gums, you should be able to get up close and personal with almost anyone without the worry of offending

Definition

Gingivitis is the inflammation of the gums around the teeth due to improper cleaning of teeth. Gingivitis may be caused by a build up of plaque and tartar. If not treated, gingivitis can progress to more-serious gum diseases, such as periodontitis, and eventually to the destruction of bone and to tooth loss.

Causes

If you don’t brush and floss your teeth every day, this food can big problem for you. The rotten bits of food cause a bad smell in your mouth. Rotten food also helps bacteria to grow in your mouth. This bacterium can cause gum disease, or gingivitis. Gingivitis also causes bad breath.
In addition to causing tooth decay, some of these bacteria contribute to gum disease. One type in particular, Fusobacterium nucleatum, assists other bacteria in adhering to the teeth and penetrating beneath the gum line.
Other things increase the risk of it developing, including:
Injury to the gum
Pregnancy
Uncontrolled diabetes
Smoking
Stress
Poor nutrition
The side effects of certain drugs
Problems such as rough or misaligned teeth

Symptoms

The common symptoms are-
Swollen, soft, red gums.
Gums that bleed easily.
A change in the color of your gums from a healthy pink to dusky red.
A complex system by which bacteria-fighting cells of the body are recruited to an area of bacterial infection plays a major role in gingivitis
When bacteria first begin to invade the gums, proteins present in the saliva and soft tissues called antibodies coat the bacteria and weaken it, making it an easy target for the body’s immune system.
One particular cell called a macrophage is responsible for ingesting the bacteria and dissolving it with chemicals. This system works nicely, but it is not terribly efficient.
The body sees this inflammation as a small price to pay for stopping the bacteria. This process will continue until the source of the infection is removed.

Treatment

Take some clove oil and rub it on your gums. Or else, keep a clove in your mouth and chew slowly. Brush your teeth with toothpaste that contains sage oil, peppermint oil etc. In 1 glass of lukewarm water, add a pinch of salt and prepare a homemade saline solution. Using this solution, gargle two times in a day. It will help a great deal in reducing the swelling in your mouth.
Treatment of pericoronitis consists of removal of debris from under the gingival flap; irrigation with saline, 1.5% hydrogen peroxide, or 0.12% chlorhexidine; and, particularly when episodes recur, extraction. If severe infection develops, antibiotics may be given for a day before extraction and continued during healing.

The medical name for bad breath is halitosis. Causes can range from poor oral hygiene habits and foods you eat to various other health problems and unhealthy lifestyles.

If you eat foods with strong odors like garlic or onions you basically have to wait until the foods have passed through your body before the odor is completely gone. You can mask it with brushing and mouthwash to cover up the odor temporarily. All food you eat begins the breaking down process in your mouth. As food digests and is absorbed into the bloodstream, it is eventually carried to the lungs and given off in your breath.

Poor dental hygiene habits promote bacteria growth between teeth, around the gums and on the tongue, which causes bad breath. If you don’t brush and floss your teeth daily, the food particles that remain in your mouth begins to promote bacteria growth on teeth, gums and the tongue. If dentures are not properly cleaned, bacteria and food particles can cause bad breath.
Other unhealthy lifestyles that include smoking or chewing tobacco-based products can cause bad breath, stain the teeth and irritate gum tissues.

Health problems associated with bad breath include:

Gum or periodontal disease
Poorly fitting dental appliances
yeast infections of the mouth
Dental cavities
Dry mouth (dry mouth may be caused by side effects of medications, salivary gland problems or continuous breathing through the mouth)
Respiratory tract infections like pneumonia or bronchitis
Chronic sinus infections
Postnasal drip
Diabetes
Chronic acid reflux
Liver or kidney problems

Tips on how to prevent or reduce bad breath include:

Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and brush after you eat
Always brush your tongue
Replace toothbrush every 2 to 3 months
Use floss or interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between your teeth once a day
Remove dentures at night and clean thoroughly before placing in your mouth the next morning
See your dentist at least twice a year.
Stop smoking/chewing tobacco-based products
Drink lots of water to keep your mouth moist
Chew cinnamon flavored, sugar free gum (read the food label for the ingredient Xylitol. Studies show Xylitol in sugar free gum can help to destroy the bacteria in your mouth and give you that just brushed clean feeling as well. The flavor ‘cinnamon’ has also been shown in some studies to be the best flavor to combat against bad breath.
Mouthwashes you buy over-the-counter generally provide a temporary way to mask unpleasant mouth odor. There are some antiseptic brands of mouth-rinse products that do help kill the germs that cause bad breath. Ask your dentist which product is best for you.

In most cases your dentist can find and treat the cause of bad breath. If your dentist determines the odor is due to gum disease you may be referred to a periodontist. A periodontist specializes in treating gum conditions. If the dentist finds your mouth to be healthy you may be referred to a family physician, internist or some other specialist to deterIf you eat foods with strong odors like garlic or onions you basically have to wait until the foods have passed through your body before the odor is completely gone.mine the odor source and an appropriate treatment plan.

Many people have realize the importance of having a good breath. You need to take special consideration when treating bad breath problem. Do not you ever experience where people suddenly run away from you when you start a conversation with them? You may feel rejected and think that these people just do not want to be your friend. The truth is they simply could not stand to your awful smelly breath.

You need to think that treating bad breath is as important as taking care your normal health problem. Believe it or not, bad breath is consider as one of health related problems. If you have a high fever or flu, you either go to see your doctor or simply buy medicines at pharmacies to cure your disease.

Same goes with bad breath, you need to take some action to cure it as it will not cure by itself. In fact, it will get even worse if you simply leave it for a long time. Not like fever where it can be cure by itself by not taking any prescriptions, bad breath simply cannot.

First and foremost, treating bad breath must begin with brushing your teeth regularly. Do this twice per day which are during early morning and late at night before you shut out your eyes.

Of course, it will be much better if you can straight away brush your teeth after every meals you take as this will prevent the food left over stay inside your mouth. Even a slight food can cause the bacteria to spread. Consider using flossing as well because by brushing alone may not entirely clean your teeth.

Also do not forget to clean your tongue as bacteria really loves to stay there because this is the most moisture place. If you have a mouthwash, gaggle it for 30 seconds or so to get rid of those plaque.

Try to take less protein foods including onions, dairy products, garlic and so on as these type of food will only contribute to bad breath. This method of treating bad breath might be difficult at first because you need to take care of what you eat, but you have to do it anyway for the sake of your mouth. You do not want to wait until your smell turn so bad then only you want to do something about it, do you?

Stop smoking if you are a smoker. Smoking will not only lead to lung cancer, stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure and so on but it will also lead to bad breath. Get some professional help to reduce your addiction to cigarette and quit smoking permanently. Smoking not only endanger yourself but others that surround you as well.

Treating bad breath must cover all the ground. Whatever the situation is, do not neglect the importance of having a clean oral hygiene. A lot of stuffs that can help you cure bad breath are easily purchase on the market and quite cheap, so you have no reason to not able to do it.

When you are looking for a cure for bad breath, you will have to examine the cause of the bad breath in order to treat it effectively. Bad breath is a common condition that affects one in four people and it is good to know that there is a cure and bad breath can be treated effectively.

There are many causes of bad breath including oral bacteria, foods, smoking, dentures, and dry mouth. Each of these different causes of bad breath will be related to either chronic or short-term bad breath. You can find a cure for bad breath for each of these conditions.

Oral Bacteria

Oral bacteria is a number one cause of chronic bad breath and can be eliminated through regular brushing and flossing of your teeth and regular brushing or scraping of your tongue. Oral bacterial lives in your mouth and seems to favour the tongue as one of its favorite hiding spots. You must dislodge food particles and plaque from your mouth so that bacteria cannot thrive in your mouth. When you adopt a regular brushing and flossing routine, you can eliminate oral bacteria and bad breath from your life.

Food Caused Bad Breath

Foods such as onions and garlic can cause short-term bad breath and it is recommended that you eat a sprig of parsley, cloves, fennel seeds or peppermint to mask the odour. The odour cannot be eliminated because it originates in your intestinal tract and you must wait a day for the odour to leave your body naturally.

Smoking Caused Bad Breath

Smoking causes chronic bad breath from the smell of the tobacco and because it leaves your gums and teeth prone to gum disease which causes bad breath. In order to prevent the risk of mouth and gum disease and bad breath caused by smoking, it is recommended that you quit smoking.

Dentures And Bad Breath

Dentures can cause chronic bad breath when the dentures are not cleaned regularly. Food particles can be caught in the appliances and unless the dentures are washed regularly, the food particles will help oral bacteria thrive in your mouth.

Dry Mouth Caused Bad Breath

Dry mouth is a condition that can cause short-term or chronic bad breath because moisture helps to clean the tissues of the mouth. If the mouth is too dry, bacteria cannot be moved away from the mouth. You can drink the recommended daily amount of water and juices to replenish the moisture in your mouth tissues and this will help to flush out oral bacteria. Brushing and flossing must be regularly maintained when a dry mouth condition is present to prevent bad breath.

If you want to find a cure for bad breath, you must match the remedy to the cause of the bad breath. When you have found a cure for bad breath that works for you, you will feel like it is a new beginning.

Those we associate closely with on an ongoing basis will respect us more if we do not have bad breath and our teeth are nice and bright as they should be. You will also be more confident with others knowing you do not have to think anymore about how you can banish your bad breath.

Personal Experience’s

In the past I was an employee of a large corporation, and I worked with someone who had very bad breath most of the time. Other employees also had to work in quite close contact with this employee that didn’t know he needed to banish his bad breath. Of course we all did our best to maintain our distance from him as much as possible.

After about two weeks of his employment with us, one of my fellow employees went up to him and told him he had bad breath. Of course the employee with bad breath felt insulted. A number of us spoke up and said to him, “You do have bad breath, and it is very unpleasant working with you.” The employee resisted admitting there was a problem.

To get the situation resolved, the supervisor said to the fellow who needed to banish his bad breath, “If you want to continue working here, you will need to find a treatment for your bad breath.” The reason why the fellow had such bad breath was simply because he was always eating foods like onions and garlic. Needless to say he found a way to banish his bad breath.

General Causes

You may just have temporary bad breath and so you may not have the need or desire to banish bad breath. The foods you eat… such as garlic, onions, and certain spices, can cause bad breath temporarily. Bad breath can be a result of oral problems like periodontal disease and tarter build-up on your teeth.

Serious Causes

Persistent bad breath or Halitosis can be a precursor to more serious oral and general overall health problems. The same germs and plaque that builds up in your arteries and heart, is also found in gum swelling and tooth decay. Your bad breath may be caused because of a medical condition called Halitosis. A dentist may send a patient with Halitosis to a physician to deal with a bodily cause. Ketones are unpleasant smelling compounds that are excreted through urine, perspiration, and through exhaled breath as well. Ketones build up in blood to levels that result in halitosis if a person has diabetes, has been starving, or has inadequate carbohydrate intake. These are very good reasons to banish bad breath from your life.

How To Banish Bad Breath

If your bad breath is not health related, you can usually banish bad breath by simple lifestyle changes. Proper oral hygiene is the first step to take if you want to banish bad breath. If your teeth need serious attention, visit your dentist and get a cleaning done. Brushing your teeth, gums, and tongue well after every meal and flossing your teeth is of course important for obvious health reasons. Brushing and flossing removes bacteria and germs from your mouth. Also you can prevent plaque build up on your teeth by brushing regularly.

Who would want to have bad breath or halitosis? I don’t think anybody would want to have bad breath. Unfortunately, no matter how much we hated to have one if we do not take good care our oral and dental health, it is possible that we can have bad breath. But, do not think that proper oral and dental hygiene is the only reason for your bad breath.

There are some factors that can cause the odor of your mouth. Whatever the reasons maybe for your bad breath condition, it has to be cured. If you concern about having bad breath or halitosis, here are a few tips about home remedy for bad breath that may help you to prevent or cure

Bad breath is often due to the lack of moisture in your mouth. It is best to drink plenty of water to replenish dry tissues of the mouth and flush any food particles stuck in between teeth. It is often recommended that we drink eight glasses of water each day and this advice will go a long way to reducing bad breath. If you feel like drowning drinking the recommended dosage of water, one best way to moisturize one’s mouth is by eating fresh fruits

Gargling Mouthwash several times a day is not the solution. People who use mouthwash the most often are most likely to have bad breath. Although mouthwash do help to get rid of bacteria and freshen your breath, it also consist of ingredients that can dry your mouth. Hence, using it too many times a day can cause adverse effect instead.

Gargling with baking soda and water is one of the easier home remedy for bad breath. The baking soda assists in neutralizing the bacteria in your mouth and often is successful when used occasionally. Mouth wash is another quick and easy fix. Whether it is store bought mouth wash, or by means of a herbal concoction you find in a magazine, it is a good home remedy for halitosis. The most important way to rid yourself of halitosis, is to increase the number of times you brush and floss your teeth in a day. Flossing is very important, since it rids the teeth of plaque that builds up, resulting in halitosis.

One of the easiest remedies to cure bad breath is consuming sugarless yogurt. You can add this to your routine meals to see the effect yourself. A Japanese study cleared that people who had included sugarless yogurt in their diet had minor hydrogen sulfide levels compared to those people who did not eat it. Hydrogen sulfide causes bad breath amongst most people. Yogurt helps in reducing bad breath as it contains various live bacteria, such as lactobacillus.

Cranberries are another thing that people have found to be effective when it comes to fighting bad breath, try drinking cranberry juice more often, even just a couple of glasses per day might make a big difference.

Halitosis is the medical term for bad breath. Many people suffer from it either temporarily or as a chronic problem. Common causes are odiferous foods, smoking, poor oral hygiene, sinus conditions and medical issues. There are many cures for this ailment that are simple to use. If problems persist, though, it is advisable to seek the authority of a dentist or medical professional to rule out any serious dental or medical issues.

Certain foods such as garlic and onions produce bad breath. This is not a serious condition and will resolve itself in little time. Also, smoking can produce bad breath. Smoking can contribute to more serious dental and gum issues but the odor associated with smoking is unavoidable. It is, of course, recommended that smokers quit but short of that, there is little prevention for smoker’s breath. For a temporary fix, brush your teeth, chew gum or use a mint.

People with sinus conditions produce mucus that can be foul smelling. As a treatment for the sinus condition, a patient may be prescribed antihistamines which can cause dry mouth. If the mouth does not produce enough saliva to remain moist, this will cause bad breath. This is also why people have morning breath after sleeping for several hours allowing the mouth to dry out. Brushing and drinking plenty of water will help alleviate this.

There are several natural remedies found to help counteract the effects of bad breath. Chewing cardamom seeds, sunflower seeds, mint leaves and parsley are known to deodorize. Gargling with a mixture of lemon juice and water also helps. Brushing with baking soda and adding it to water for gargling is a popular choice in home remedies. Drinking teas with spices such as cardamom, anise, cinnamon and fennel are all reported to help sweeten breath.

The best way to treat bad breath is to ensure proper dental care. Brushing and flossing regularly will help deter bacteria from forming on teeth and tongue. As food particles can get trapped between teeth, flossing is essential to ensure plaque does not accumulate. Regular trips to the dentist for professional cleaning are also advised. When brushing, ensure a good toothbrush is used and do not neglect the tongue. Bacteria can get trapped on the tongue as well so thoroughly brush it.

If bad breath is a persistent condition, seek consultation with a dentist. It may be a sign of a more serious dental issue or gum disease. If a dentist rules out dental problems as a cause, a referral to a medical doctor may be in order. Certain conditions such as liver and kidney diseases can contribute to bad breath.
